League at home to Mayfield United on Tuesday 1st April 2014
Mayfield United 2 Midleton 2
Well Midleton went away to Mayfield the night was wet and windy and cold. I was telling the Lads we had'nt lost a league match yet so lets keep on top. I will not go on about this game, 1 big 6ft keeper in Mayfields defence and plenty of shots on target but the big fella liked the high shots, so we switched to ground level to stop the keepers reign, this was a bonus for Midleton. We didn't get much wrong but 2 silly mistakes let mayfield Score, the order was not impotant we had a penalty given to us after Mayfield chopped Evan Rowlands in the Box. 1.0 to us. I think then Mayfield got a free kick outside the Box and in the mass of bodies in front of the keeper Alan O'leary they forced a near inside post shot. Then the screaming started from our sideline. We pretty much dominated the game but Mayfield squeezed another soft goal But Lots of great football by Midleton the passing and team sprit was Top notch, I will name all who played = MAN OF THE MATCH, As it's the best I've seen this team Play, Thanks Guys.
League at home to Douglas Hall B on Sunday 15th September 2013
Midleton 5 Douglas Hall B 0
A wet and windy day for the first game of the season, we used 4-2-3-1 formation. Midleton Looking taller and all grown up this year. We got off to a great start, Morgan Lee powering a shot out of keepers reach, 1-0 to us we kept ball in the Douglas' half for most of game Cian Murphy hit a great shot but keeper parrying the ball back out into Evan Rowlands path who banged home the second goal just before the second half.
Second half Evan was setup again this time by Tristan Horgan, Evan places ball right of keeper 3-0. The game kept going our way, leaving poor Taran Troy in the goal at our end wet and Cold with very little to do, Tristan Horgan made some outstanding runs up right beating 3 players at a time just could'nt find the target! We hit the bar 4 times and then it was Cian Murphy's turn, he places a well earned goal into left side of goal leaving keeper stationary 4-0. And the finally was Cormac Obrien who had just come on in place of Morgan Lee, taking advantage of a poor clearance chips 2 defenders and keeper 5-0. We played all 5 subs giving all a feel of good things to come from a dedicated squad. Well done to all.
