Report: Football returned for the under 15s after the weather enforced winter break with Everton coming to knockgriffin looking for the 3 points to put them top of the table we on the other hand needed the win for different reasons. Everton kicked off and the magpies had the ball back within 30 seconds and from there we completely outplayed Everton for the first 35 minutes. The chance of the game fell to Sam O Reilly on 10 minutes when he blazed over from 6 yards with only the keeper to beat, we continued creating chances and Javi Garreus, Scott Fenton and Matty O Reilly all went close before jamie Collins put us 1 up from the penalty spot after a great run from Matty O Reilly. 1-0 at the break.

We expected a reaction from Everton and we got it, they were a different team after the break and took the game to us mainly through their right winger who was giving Cian Ronan and Abdul Backinson a tough day. We needed a second and got it and what a goal it was a free kick from 25 yards hit the top right hand corner of the net courtesy of the boot of Matty O Reilly. 2-0 and some breathing space. Fresh legs came on Quadri Uminu and Tomas Dupas for Ronan and Fenton. We were starting to drop deeper and Everton were creating the chances now with 15 to play.

They pulled one back with 8 minutes to go after a goal mouth scramble the referee judged the ball crossed the line we think Eabhan De Barra clawed it out from under crossbar. 2-1 and we were under the kosh now De Barra pushed a free kick over and another goal mouth scramble from the resulting corner was eventually cleared. The final whistle went, at last, and there it was our first win, hard fought win, well deserved win but a win 3points. A great performance from 1-13 today everyone of the lads gave everything, a special mention for Eabhan De Barra who kept us in the game in those final minutes on wards and upwards for the rest of the season!!!!!!!!!
