Midleton FC Result: Win
Score: 3-0
Goalscorers: Ciarmhac Smyth (2), Evan Kelly
Report: First match of the season was played in heavy wind and rain but the boys rose to the challenge and dominated the game. The team has changed since last season and we had 3 new players in the starting line up, Darragh Codd at centre half, Darragh McCarthy in midfield and Ciarmhac Smyth up front. All three goals came in the first 20 mins with Ciarmhac running at the defence and hitting low into the corner for the first. Evan Kelly scored a superb strike high into the net and then Ciarhmac got the third beating the keeper to the ball and poking it home. There were great performances all through the team with a solid defence from Conor Clark, Josh Wall, Ben Lowen and Darragh Codd. In midfield captain Keith Cleary and Darragh Mc controlled the game with Evan Kelly as an attacking midfielder. Up front Ciarmhac, James O'Sullivan and Luke Hourigan threaten at all times and as the game wore on the subs, Aaron Smyth, Colin sunderland, Neil Fitzgerlad, Cian Murray and Conan Hickey made excellent contributions. There were some non-playing squad members also with Rory Hartnett, Oisin Shanhan and Kamil Mikalak not playing today. This year we have a strong squad and it is important they stick together as everyone will play their part.

Cork U12 Girls League

Midleton 4-1.Macroom
Midleton U12 girls had another win today away in Macroom 2 goals from the ever improving Lainey O'Sullivan, a goal from Lily Hayes Nally (capt) and an unfortunate OG for Macroom.
Next up is Tuesday evening at home to Douglas Hall, the league leaders so a must win game for us if we are to overtake them in the league. Will be a tight finish, we need to win all our remaining games to win the league.
Well done to all the girls, another great performance. Player of the match Deire Ositadinma.

Girls U16
Kinsale 3 Midleton 1

On what started a lovely day ended very wet and unsuccessful. To be fair there was little between the sides overall just Kinsale had their shooting boots on from distance.

They took their only chance in the first half shortly after Laura had hit the crossbar.
Second half and they created a bit more , another stile from distance put them 2 up before Lauren squeezed in a free off one of their defenders. Then Ashling Harty came close to an equaliser before they finished us off again from distance to the roof of the net.
Team: Shauna Horgan, Lauren Linehan (Capt),Niamh Molloy, Ashling Murphy, Andy Cuthbert, Ciara Lawlor, Eimear Lawlor, Zara Bowles, Ashling Harty, Aoife Mitchell, Laura O Keeffe, Lucy Horgan, Ellen Harty, Courtney English.
