Goalscorer : Jake Hegarty
Massive 3pts this morning in Mahon, after a lengthy lay off from competitive football midleton found the 1st 45min this morning a bit disjointed and it was Ringmahon who tried to cease the initiative and that they kind of did, with a lot of dangerous set pieces but from open play very little ,and were very close to going one down after Liam Kearney nearly lobbed his own keeper. Gary Collins was immense in the opening for 45min for the MAGPIES at centre back, marshalling his back four to with stand the ariel pressure .but it was Jake Hegarty had the best chance of the game 10min before half time from 6yrds out the keeper made a world class block to deny the opener to the away side .

Midleton re-organised at half time by the looks of it as their performance was raised massively from the minute the whistle blew , moving the ball with more purpose and intern resulting to get Mccarthy was on the front foot versus a experienced Liam Kearney , Hegarty lead the line well and Lally and Maher started to do what they have done all year and dominate the middle. Maher came close from a corner and Knowles was also snuffed out at the last moment. But the all important goal came from the unexpected, a arrow of a free kick from goalkeeper Andy o Donoghue long and direct to pick out Jake Hegarty who soared highest and stuck a bullet of a header to the Mahon bottom corner from 18yrds out, what a header it was. Knowles went close again to make it two but just went over the empty goal. Ringmahon huffed for the last 5min but midleton shape was excellent to see out a huge victory before next week's top of table clash with Avondale.

Well done lads super win.
