League at home to Ballinhassig on Saturday 2nd March 2013
Midleton 6  Ballinhassig 1

Captained by Lucy Horgan had a well deserved win on Saturday in this league game. Having been beaten previously by Ballinhassig the girls fought hard and every player played their hearts out. Ballinhassig went one nil up within 5 minutes as Midleton struggled to keep their shape and get into the game. 20 minutes into the game the Midleton girls finally settled and Kate Desmond scored the equaliser and this goal gave the Midleton girls a real boost, so much so that Kate Desmond scored her second goal within the next 5 minutes. The first half ended with the Midleton girls 2 -1 up.  The second half was totally dominated by Midleton with Kate Desmond and Courtney Histon both getting hat tricks.
Well done to all the Midleton girls who had a well deserved win.

Local cup at home to Wilton United on Saturday 1st December 2012
Midleton 3 Wilton Utd 3

Midleton U14 girls captained by Catherine Walsh took on the league leaders Wilton Utd today and showed then that with teamwork and commitment they can take on any team. Each of the Midelton girls were fantastic and could not be faulted in any way and were not intimidated by the physicality of the Wilton side. Goals came from Lauren Linehan and Kate Desmond who scored twice in the first half. Charley Moore man marked Wilton's top player throughout the whole game, effectively taking her out of the game by not giving her any space. Shauna Cronin played in goal for the first half and was excellent. The first half ended 3 all.

The second half saw Wilton regroup and apply the pressure. Roisin O'Callaghan took over in goal and the back four of Lily Duggan, Catherine Walsh, Dionne Carroll and Aisling Murphy were heroic in their defense and with great support from an outstanding midfield of Shannon Cremin, Elena Kelleher, Kate Desmond, Leila Stack, and Lauren Linehan and Courtney Histon up front the Midleton girls showed that team work does work.

Well done girls and to Aisling Murphy who was player of the match with her precision tackles and control on the ball proving that she is an outstanding defender.

League away to Ballinhassig on Saturday 17th November 2012
Ballinhassig 3 Midleton 3

Midleton U14 girls captained by Lily Duggan travelled to Ballinhassig and played out one of the best games of the season so far. Ballinhassig were physically bigger and stronger but great commitment and play from the Midleton girls ensured this game was a thriller. Ballinhassig applied the pressure from the kick off and the Midleton backs, Lily Duggan, Catherine Walsh, Dionne Carroll, Niamh Molloy and Aisling Murphy had to work really hard to keep out the very tall Ballinhassig forwards. However, despite their best efforts Ballinhassig took the lead. Midleton kept their heads up and within minutes a great through ball to Lauren Linehan up front from Shannon Cremin saw Lauren show her skill and score a fantastic goal. 1 - 1 and it was game on with the Midelton girls having to play mostly in their own half with Ballinhassig pressing forward. However, Midleton were always dangerous on the break and Shannon Cremin and Courtney Histon worked well together and a great run from Shanon Cremin saw her score a great goal and the Midleton girls took the lead at the end of the first half.

The second half started with Ballinhassig pressing forward and Shauna Horgan who was fantastic throughout the whole game was unable to stop the 2nd Ballinhassig goal. The Midleton midfield of Elena Kelleher, Aisling Harty, Shannon Cremin, Molly Beausang and Courtney Histon were outstanding, battling for every ball. A great solo run from Courtney Histon saw the Midelton girls take the lead 3 - 2, but this was short lived as Ballinhassig scored within minutes to level the game at 3 - 3. The last 10 minutes was indeed gripping with Ballinhassig really applying the pressure and Shauna Horgan had to make some terrific saves and Aisling Murphy cleared the ball from the Midleton goal line twice with a fantastic defensive game. The final whistle finally came. Well done girls for a well deserved draw.
Player of the match went to Catherine Walsh.

Local Cup away to Passage on Saturday 3rd November 2012
Passage 2 Midleton 3

First win of the year for the girls U14. The girls got off to a great start and were one up after only five minutes when Courtney scored direct from a free kick just outside the box, this was followed within ten minutes by another goal this time from Kate . She finished to the roof of the net from the edge of the six yard box. Passage to their credit never stopped trying and were rewarded with a goal five minutes before the break.
Passage had the better of the exchanges in the second half but the girls all played very well especially Lily, Charly, Dianna and Niamh across the back. Shauna had a very good game in goals and could do nothing about their goal when it came after the ball took a whicked deflections.

After loosing a two goal lead lots of team would let their heads go down but not today, straight from the re-start Shannon, Kate, Courtney, Elena and Aisling doubled their efforts in midfield and a quick throw ball down the line by Aisling set Kate away and she could not be caught as she cut into the area and finished with a rocket of a shot across their kepper. Layla and Doireann played well up front as they shared the position for the day. This very close cup match finished with a well deserved win for the girls and their captain on the day Elena (must be the youngest U14 Capt in the clubs history) Player of the Match went to Lily for her rock solid performance in defence.

Team- Shauna Horgan, Niamh Molloy,Charly Moore,Dianna Browne, Lily Duggan, Shannon Cremin,
Elena Kellher(Capt), Courtney Histon, Kate Desmond, Aisling Harty, Layla Stack McCarthy,
Doireann Conway, Lucy Horgan.

League away to Crosshaven on Saturday 22nd September
Midleton 2 Crosshaven 4

Midleton U14 girls traveled to Crosshaven for their first game of the season. This was a thrilling game end to end with the girls losing 4 - 2. Crosshaven took the lead with a penalty by Cliona Wrenne. The Midleton girls responded well and were unlucky not to score with Becky Sheehan the Crosshaven keeper saving shots from Kate Desmond, Shannon Cremin and Charley Moore. Emily Kenefick of Crosshaven was a constant threat and a long ball through saw her score Croshavens second goal. The first half ended with Midleton 2 nil down.

The second half started with Midleton applying all the pressure. Kate Desmond, Rose Goggin and Charley Moore winning the midfield ball and Shannon Cremin broke forward and won a penalty and stepped up and duly scored. the Midleton girls kept the play in the Crosshaven half but just couldn't score with Kate Desmond and Deanna Browne having their shots at goal saved. A swift kick out and break then saw Crosshaven increase their lead to 3 - 1. The Midleton girls responded with Charley Moore winning a free and she duly scored. The last 10 minutes thrilling with both teams playing out of their skins and Crosshaven scored their 4th goal in the last minute.
