Under 15A 2014/15 Division 5 Match Reports

League at Knockgriffin V Mayfield United Saturday 15th November 2014
Midleton 2 Mayfield United 2

One of the few games to be played this weekend. 15A’s showed great spirit in this Match , 4 minutes in we opened the slow starting Mayfield gang. A lovely cross into Morgan lee from a Evan Rowlands free kick, zipping the poorly placed defence 1.0 to us , Mayfield then decided to play long and tried every which way through a high placed Midleton defence , we then got caught for a soft free kick about 20 yards out, A well taken shot leaving Taran Troy stationary halftime 1-1. Our left winger John Kenny was subbed at halftime (after a great debut) Alan O’Leary was the fresh legs on the left wing and supporting the pounding attacks from Evan ,Tristan and Morgan we hit the bar the posts and everything but the target ! finally Tristan got the just rewards , beating the 6ft giant of a keeper 2-1 Midleton. Then a silly mistake at the back allowing Mayfield back in the Game and we ran out of time full time score 2-2.
We played all 16 Lads and what a team, Sorry I didn’t name you all ! Top performance Lads.

League at Knockgriffin V Richmond on Saturday 4th October 2014
Richmond 0 Midleton 4

Slow start but we kept the ball for most of the Game The Ref graced us with 1 yellow not sure why / and then a red for a Swipe after a bad tackle. So a midfield player reminded to be a good boy, or we would be playing with 9 players we dominated most of the first half, First was Jamie Collins coming up from defence nodding a great corner from Tristans high ball. Taking Gary Carroll off for Morgan Lee 5 minutes before second half. Into second Half Evan taking another nod from Tristans perfect corner cross. Tristan then went streaking up on right wing and managed a stumbling shot off defender but we\'ll say Bagged by the winger. Evan then came alive again taking on 2 men left then right and onto his right boot sending ball into back of net. With a man down we subbed Mark Daly and Ronan Lynch for Kieran O\'Sullivan and Alan O\'Leary, fresh legs making it more like our game, Final score was 4-0 to us , Naming the team (solid) and the defence 98% David,Marco,Morgan,Gary, and Jamie ,,Cheers to all the Gang.

League at Knockgriffin V Carrigtwohill on Tuesday 16th September 2014
Carrigtwohill 3 Midleton 3

Massive support from Midleton buachaill scoile, We had a last minute change in Team formation as Evan Rowlands was now told he was allowed play in this Match after 2 yellow cards on Sunday. The lads were off to a flying start but we were very edgy against the local neighbours who looked very focused. We seemed in charge until a free kick was given against us, our defence was a bit too boisterous at times Jamie,Marco,Ronan, and David. keeping Taran limited to small duties, and once in The Keepers grasp , the kick outs were superb. A simple free kick was enough to put us in trouble,, 1-0 to Carrig. After the goal we showed some brilliant runs from midfield ,Griffin , Evan , Tristan made some beautiful runs from all angles. The 2 infront of defence the SOLID Mark Daly and Marco O\'Connor , gave feed to set plays (outstanding) We had Tristan flying the wing, this Boy can fly into top right corner crossing a beauty onto Alan O\'leary\'s head -off crossbar into he\'s body and in 1-1 then , and then again we zipped into Carrig half , Evan Rowlands out pacing the defence on right crossing ball into right side of goal and keeper played ball into he\'s own net oops ! 2-1. then second Half they pulled one back into bottom left corner. 2-2 (screaming come on Lads Wake -up )We battled hard and yet another famous run from Tristan on the right and getting tripped and awarded a penalty,, Carrig player awarded a Red , Evan blasted a true cert, into back right of the net. 3-2 . minutes left we kept playing hard but getting tired we replaced David Harris and Kieran O\'Sullivan with Morgan Lee and Donal Greenwood at the back , not being used to 80 minutes we looked tired ,, and a simple tackle became a very stupid LAST MINUTE FREE KICK and our guys were not ready! Carrig ploughed one deep into left corner of net ,,, 3-3 what a Game . :)

League at Castletreasure V Corinthians on Sunday 14th September 2014
Corinthians 3 Midleton 3

We all might agree an away match to forget, 3-1 up in the second half and then a Midleton Midfield player sent off after 2 yellows, we were provoked into retaliation and Corinthian coaching is not without question after multiple screams at Ref, to correct opposition . 3-3 if you please.

League at Park V Ballincollig on Wednesday 3rd September 2014
Ballincollig 3 Midleton 0

Not Ideal for Midleton 15A , A poor effort by the lads , We were punished for the second time . The ballincollig lads were stronger , I feel the Lads were not ready , A 5 min walk to the top pitch, The lads had no time for warm up , I asked for the Game to be moved but Hey ! 3 Injured with no reward from the Referee , Tristan was badly shaken an had to be substituted by Alan O\'Leary. Alan battled hard against an aggressive team .The final score was not warranted but Is officially stamped with the League on the table.

League at Knockgriffin V Crosshaven on Saturday 30th August 2014
Crosshaven 2 Midleton 1

Last minute injury , caused a shake-up on our first official visit on the newly constructed Midleton grounds.
Sub keeper stepped in for Shane O\'Shea, Taran Troy came to the rescue . We started off with great forward pace but seemed a bit uncoordinated and we let a silly back pass without speech letting the Crosshaven forward in through what you might call a thank you gap ! 1-0 down .

After about 25 minutes of battling we weakened again, A strong tackle from one of the back four gave Crosshaven a Penalty. Cleanly taken (right back post)Taran had no chance. After a stiff team talk and 2 changes at halftime we pulled a flyer out of the Bag , from a great one two which was deflected outside the 18 yrd box Mark Daley sent the ball rocketing above the keeper 2-1. We hit everything but the goal in the final 20 minutes , Final Score was 2-1 to Crosshaven.
