Junior's 2013/14 Match Reports

Junior's 2013/14 Premier Division

Super cup away to Ringmahon Rangers on Thursday 8th May 2014
Ringmahon Rangers 1 Midleton
5
Unbelievable result tonight for the juniors away from home, to book a final in turners cross, after going down 1 nil by a sucker punch against the run of play after 15min, Midleton gathered themselves and deservedly got a equaliser on 30min through a Micky Ryan screamer of a free kick. ht 1-1.

Midleton began the second half on the front foot sensing a vulnerable Mahon side at the back and grabbed a 2nd on 55min through Jake Hegarty header, Midleton should have doubled their lead only for keeper to save well again from Hegarty, but Jake made no mistake on 70min smashing unstoppable shot from 30yrds into top corner to give a little cushion and anyone watching something to talk about, but the magpies went for the juggler after this and again Hegarty in yaya toure style dribbled past two around the keeper and slotted home to make it 4-1 but it is a unsung hero in this team that finished proceedings Duncan mc carthy slotted home to make it 5-1. Superb performances on the night from everyone, not a ounce as left behind in Mahon.
Well done lads, Lets go and finish the job Tuesday night at Turners Cross.

Super Cup at home to Youghal United on Saturday 22nd March 2014
Midleton 3 Youghal United 1

Comfortable victory here today in the first round of the super cup. Jake Hegarty with a brace and a excellent team goal and Micky Ryan with a penalty to round off proceedings, 2nd round draw is away to Bandon next week.

League away to Ringmahon Rangers B on Sunday 16th March 2014
Ringmahon Rangers B 0 Midleton 3
Great result here for the Magpies Very good team performance that keep the junior team in contention for league honors. Goal Scorers on the day John Keane, Dave Connaughthon, and Stephen O'Brien.

League at home to Carrigaline United on Friday 6th December 2013
Midleton 3 Carrigaline United 0
This was a slippery one for Magpies who were missing a lot of personnel on the night, but played really well without the missing crew and Cormac Ahern started off the goals with a screamer on 15min, Jake Hegarty with a glancing header on 55min from a great Dylan O'Riordan cross, and the evergreen Mark Duggan rapped it up up from the spot on 77min. Always a great feeling when ya bounce back quickly, well done tonight lads, really good performance from all.

Munster Junior Cup away to Leeside on Saturday 19th October 2013
Leeside 0 Midleton 4

After last week's poor performance Midleton needed to bounce back quickly to avoid being knocked out of the mjc, but bounce back they did and gave a very comprehensive team performance to make they way into the next round versus Mayfield or College Cors!
