Douglas Hall 0-1 Midleton
Jake Hegarty

A excellent 1st half performance that should have resulted in more goals, gave the magpies the platform for all 3pts Today. Adrian O Donovan ex-magpie and Douglas Goalkeeper having a fine game to keep the magpies at bay, but he was finally beaten after 30min excellent reaction from Emmett Cotter to intercept and play a delightful Ball for Jake Hegarty to smash home from 20yrds. James Leahy came agonising close to making it two, and Matt lambe also looked like he was added to score board only for a superb block.
Ht 1-0
2nd half Midleton still looked comfortable with Andy O donoghue watching on in goal, but from the hour mark Douglas came into the game and it turned the contest into a very tight one, restricting Midleton to half chances, but applying pressure also and did carve open one or two chances which you always in expect in this league, a excellent double block from shane O Riordan prevented a possible Douglas goal, and Douglas did create one more and shaved the post with the effort .

A point to note today excellent performance of Referee Graham Kelly reffing on his own today but managing the game superbly for both teams . So a excellent 3pts away from home in a league that every point is valuable.
